The East Coast of the United States in Grave Danger?

A month ago we were informed by the mainstream media that Iran was sending warships towards the United States coast:

The general attitude is the US has been rather limited to trifling with the fact. "It is old, obsolete junk, and poses no threat at all".

Contrary to what CNN tells us, Iran is an old and sophisticated civilization, and the Persians are NOT stupid.

All that makes me think that the only logical explanation is that the ships are carrying nuclear warheads, possibly either Chinese or Russian, to be set off close to the American coastline in case Iran is attacked by either the US or Israel.

My guess is that they may want to use the devices, in a "suicide bombing" fashion, to create giant ocean waves, that could possibly wipe out most of the US East Coast, while Washington, D.C. and New York City would probably be the primary targets. The effect could be compounded if the explosions occurred at a certain depth under the surface of the ocean. The devices would probably be sent underwater and specific contraptions would be used to set them off in case the ships are attacked and even destroyed.

Therefore I believe the US Government and Military should consider this recent development a serious threat, and plan on intercepting the Iranian warships as far from the US Coast as possible.
